How it works

  1. 1

    Attach your WEBP images

Why convert WEBP to JPG?

Images saved from websites often arrive as WEBP, which some photo editors, older apps and upload forms still refuse, while JPG is accepted almost everywhere. Both formats are lossy, so a high quality setting such as 90 keeps the second round of compression hard to see.

How ToolGPT converts WEBP to JPG

The conversion runs in your browser: each image is decoded and written again on your device, not uploaded to a server. Every image becomes a new file.

Formats differ in what they keep. JPEG cannot store transparency, PNG keeps every pixel exactly and is often larger for photos, and WEBP usually gives the smallest file for the same look.

About WEBP

WEBP is an image format developed by Google that can be lossy or lossless and supports transparency and animation. Websites use it because it makes images noticeably smaller than JPG or PNG at a similar quality. Some older programs, photo editors and upload forms still do not accept WEBP files.

About JPG

JPG, also written JPEG, is the standard format for photographs, used by cameras, phones and almost every website. It compresses images with loss, so photos stay small while still looking natural. It has no transparency, and strong compression or repeated saving adds blocky artifacts, especially around text and sharp edges.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Attach them together and ask once. Every image gets the same settings and its own result.

Will the JPG be smaller than the WEBP?

It depends on the two formats and the picture. ToolGPT can show a size estimate for your own files before converting. Converting a photo to PNG usually makes it larger.

Are my images uploaded?

No. ToolGPT converts them in your browser.
