ToolGPT

Resize an image to the size you need

Tell ToolGPT the size a website, a slide or a print form asks for, and it resizes your photo in your browser. Quick options show the pixels and the rough file weight before you choose, and an exact size takes one sentence.

What it can do

  • Ready-made sizes

1920 px, 1080 px or 2048 px on the long edge, or 50%, each showing the pixels it produces and roughly what the file will weigh.

  • Exact pixel sizes

Type a width and a height and ToolGPT uses them exactly, up to 8000 pixels a side.

  • Proportions kept

Give a single number and it limits the longer side, with the other side worked out so nothing is distorted.

  • Fit inside a box

Ask for the whole picture to fit within a size, such as 800 × 800, without stretching it.

  • Your choice of format

Keep the photo's own format, or save the resized copy as JPEG, PNG or WEBP.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the image

Add a JPEG, PNG or WEBP with the + button, or drop it into the chat. No account is needed.

  2. 2

    Pick or type a size

Ask to resize it. Tap one of the size cards, or put the exact numbers in your message.

  3. 3

    Download the resized copy

The new image appears in the chat with a download button. The original file is left as it was.

Quick sizes never enlarge

The preset sizes only ever make a photo smaller. If your picture is 1200 pixels across, the 1920 px option is left off the card instead of blowing it up, so it never turns soft by accident. You can also scale by a percentage, such as 25% or 75%, to shrink both sides evenly.

Enlarging is possible, but only when you ask for a specific width and height. Making a small photo larger cannot add detail that was never captured, so expect a softer result.

Exact sizes and stretching

When you give both a width and a height, ToolGPT uses exactly those numbers. If they describe a different shape from your photo, the picture is stretched to match. To avoid that, ask for the photo to fit inside the size instead, or crop it to the right shape first with the image cropper.

A single number is the safest request. “1600 pixels” limits the longer side to 1600 and scales the other side to match, whether the photo is landscape or portrait.

Resized in your browser

Resizing happens on your device, so the photo is not uploaded to change its size. A smaller pixel size also makes a lighter file, which is often the easiest way to get under an upload limit; for a strict file-size limit, the image compressor can aim for a target size.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing distort my photo?

Not with a preset or a single number, which keep the proportions. A typed width and height with a different shape will stretch it unless you ask for it to fit inside.

How large can the result be?

Up to 8000 pixels on each side.

Does resizing change the file format?

No, unless you ask. The resized copy keeps the original format, or you can name JPEG, PNG or WEBP.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The resize runs in your browser.
