Get a video ready for WhatsApp Status

The WhatsApp Status recipe is the shortest of ToolGPT's recipes: it keeps up to 30 seconds. Attach a clip, say “for my status”, pick the half-minute you want, and get a vertical 1080×1920 MP4 back.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the clip

Add the video with the + button, or drop it into the chat. Phone videos, screen recordings and downloaded clips all work.

  2. 2

    Choose your 30 seconds

Say it is for WhatsApp Status. The card shows the 9:16 preview and, if the video is longer than 30 seconds, a window you can drag along a filmstrip.

  3. 3

    Apply and download

Press Apply. Save the new MP4 from the chat and post it as your status yourself.

Thirty seconds, chosen by you

The WhatsApp Status recipe keeps at most 30 seconds. When your video is longer, the card selects the first 30 seconds to start with. Drag the window to the moment you want, or tell ToolGPT, for example “use 1:05 to 1:35”. Press play on the preview and it plays only the selected part.

To share more than 30 seconds, ask ToolGPT to split the video into 30-second parts first. Each part can then be prepared for Status in the same way.

What the file looks like

The output is a vertical 1080×1920 MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. The frame rate follows your video, up to 60 fps. A landscape video is fitted inside the frame rather than cropped, with a blurred copy of the video above and below it, or black, white or a solid color if you prefer.

The job runs in your browser, so the video is not uploaded anywhere to prepare it. That suits family videos and other private clips.

Frequently asked questions

Why only 30 seconds?

30 seconds is the length the WhatsApp Status recipe targets. To use more of the video, split it into 30-second parts and prepare each one.

Does ToolGPT send it to WhatsApp?

No. It makes the file; you download it and post it from WhatsApp yourself.

Can I make the file smaller as well?

Yes. After the recipe, ask ToolGPT to compress the result. It shows a compression plan before anything runs.
