ToolGPT

Compress an image or scan to under 200 KB

Document uploads often stop at 200 KB: an ID card, a certificate, a mark sheet. Attach the scan or photo, tell ToolGPT the limit, and it writes a JPEG under 200 KB in your browser.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the scan or photo

Add it with the + button. A photo of a page taken with your phone works too.

  2. 2

    Crop, then say 200 KB

Ask ToolGPT to crop away the desk around the page, then name the limit. You can do both in one message.

  3. 3

    Download the result

A new JPEG appears with its size. Open it to check the text before you upload it.

Keeping text readable

Text suffers first when a JPEG is squeezed hard: edges blur and small print smears. For a document, fewer pixels at a good quality usually reads better than the full size at the lowest quality. A long edge of about 1,500 to 2,000 pixels keeps an A4 page legible for most forms.

Crop the empty space around the page first. ToolGPT's crop card draws each shape on your own image, and the custom crop box lets you drag to the exact edges of the document.

How the 200 KB limit is met

ToolGPT steps the JPEG quality down from 92 to 30 and keeps the first result under 200 KB. If none fits at the pixel size you chose, it says the smallest size it reached, and you can ask again with a smaller long edge.

The result is a new JPEG, or a WEBP if you ask, and your original scan isn't changed.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my document photo so large?

Phone cameras save every picture at full resolution, often several megabytes. Most of that is detail an upload form doesn't need.

Can I compress several pages at once?

A size limit works on one image at a time, so compress each page separately.

Does the compressed file keep the original's details?

No. Information stored inside the file, such as the camera model and location, is left out of the new copy.

Is my document uploaded?

No. It's compressed in your browser and stays on your device.
