ToolGPT

Get a video under your email attachment limit

A phone video only a few minutes long is often too large to attach. Tell ToolGPT where it is going, for example Gmail or Outlook, and the size it must fit. The assistant plans a smaller copy, shows the estimated size, and compresses it in your browser when you press Start.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the video

Drag the video into the chat, or choose it with the + button. You do not need an account.

  2. 2

Name the service and the limit

Say which email service you send from, and the size the file must fit if you know it. ToolGPT replies with a plan that shows the estimated size.

  3. 3

    Compress and attach

Press Start compression, save the result, and add it to your message like any other attachment.

Attachment limits as of September 2026

As of September 2026, a personal Gmail account can send up to 25 MB of attachments, and larger files go out as a Google Drive link instead. Outlook.com takes attachments of up to 25 MB each. Work and school accounts can have their own limits, set by an administrator.

Email services change these limits from time to time, so check yours if the file is close to the edge. ToolGPT works from the size you give it, so name the limit when you know it.

Aim well below the limit

An email does not carry a file exactly as it sits on your device. Attachments are encoded for the journey, which makes them bigger, and the text of the message counts as well. A video of exactly 25 MB therefore will not get through a 25 MB limit. Ask for a clear margin, such as about 18 MB for a 25 MB limit.

What fits also depends on length, because size is roughly bitrate multiplied by duration. A 30-second clip can look good at 18 MB, while a ten-minute video at the same size loses a lot of detail. For a long video, ask ToolGPT to trim it first, or to split it into parts you send separately.

If a short, small copy is enough, ToolGPT also has an Email recipe. It makes a 960×540 MP4 that keeps up to 60 seconds of your video.

Frequently asked questions

Which format is best for an email attachment?

MP4 with H.264 video plays on almost any computer or phone, so it is the safest choice. Ask for it if your video is in another format.

Can ToolGPT send the email for me?

No. It makes the smaller file. You download it and attach it yourself.

What if the video still does not fit?

Ask for a smaller size, a lower resolution or a shorter clip. If a plan could not make the file at least 5% smaller, ToolGPT says so instead of running it.

Is my video uploaded to compress it?

No. It is compressed in your browser.
